Hi, I’m Jen!

Bailey & Me

I’m so glad you are here!

Isn’t this vast universe of ‘internet’ a fascinating place? Bright and flashy, enlightening and disgusting, idealistic and opinionated. All of humanity airing their thoughts at record speed. It almost seems ridiculous to add to it. To cast my thoughts out there into the chaos. To run the risk of just adding to the mental noise. But maybe, just maybe a gentle word typed and placed just so, could help create a quiet spot to reflect. A place where truth would shine and hope abound. A place where we could be honest without being hostile, a place to listen and learn from each other.

What the world needs now is love sweet love

That’s the only thing that there’s just too little of

Hal David

It’s cliche, I know it.  I feel it, and it gives me a bit of a tingle in my typing fingers.  And it’s still completely true.  The world needs Love more than anything else.

I think there should be more hope and love and encouragement out there in the world, poured into every corner, even this corner called the internet. I know there are already others putting love and hope out there and this broken and hurting world needs even more. So since I have hope to share I need to share it. Since I know the most amazing love there is, I want to help others know Him too. The words have been tugging at my heart for longer than I even know anymore.

That’s where The Love-Well Project comes from.

I have this idea nagging at my mind about what it really means to accept love and to give love. I can’t think of anything I want to be better at, or anything that currently needs more improvement. If I only figure out one thing, in my whole life, I want it to be how to love well. How to love God, love people and love this life. If you think you’d like that too, I’d love for you to join me as I stumble along this path.  Maybe chronicling my scrapes and bruises can help someone else have fewer on their trek.

Of course none of that is possible without the one who loves perfectly, Jesus Christ.  I love because he first loved me. He’s the ultimate example of what it means to love well.  My goal is to be more like him.

And of course all that gets mixed in with being married to a worship pastor and homeschooling our three kids.

Verses to Live By

And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans 5:5

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Matt. 22:37-39

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Ephesians 3:19

Let’s learn together.
